World Cup 2026 Host Cities
From Mexico City to New York, 16 cities across 3 countries are getting ready to host the biggest football tournament on the planet. Pick your city, plan your trip.
Your World Cup Tour Starts Here
Sixteen cities, three countries, 39 days of football. The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 and gives you more options than any tournament in history: fly into New York for the Final, swing through Philadelphia and Boston for group-stage matches, then head south to Miami for the beach and a Round of 16 game. Or build a Mexico-only trip across Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. Or stay in California and split your time between LA's SoFi Stadium and Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. There is no wrong answer here, just trade-offs.
This is the first World Cup with 48 teams and 104 matches, which means each host city gets more games than in any previous edition. Most cities host 4 to 7 group-stage matches, and the bigger venues continue into the knockout rounds. New York/New Jersey hosts 8 matches including the Final at MetLife Stadium (82,500 seats). Dallas (AT&T Stadium, 80,000), Los Angeles (SoFi Stadium, 70,240), and Mexico City (Estadio Azteca, 87,000+) all stage Quarter-Finals or beyond. If your priority is to see your country play multiple matches without changing hotels, check the schedule and pick a city where they have at least two scheduled fixtures.
Each host city has its own personality, and the cost difference between them is real. Hotels in mid-June 2026 average around $90 per night in Kansas City and Guadalajara at the budget end, $200 to $300 in New York and Los Angeles at peak, with everywhere else falling between. Cities with strong public transit to the stadium (New York, Boston, Toronto, Mexico City, Philadelphia) save you the rideshare-surge headaches that fans in Dallas and Atlanta will face on matchdays. We have walked through every venue and tested the transit routes ourselves while building these guides.
Each city guide below covers the stadium, the best neighborhoods to base yourself, where locals actually eat (not just the tourist traps near the ground), how to get to the venue on matchday, fan zone locations, and what to do on your off-days. Pick your city and start planning.
