Stadium beer at the 2026 World Cup is the most expensive part of any match-day budget. The cheapest pint at any of the 16 host venues is USD 12. The most expensive is USD 18. Most stadium taps pour the same handful of macro lagers from FIFA's official sponsor Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewing company. The local craft selection at the venue is limited to two or three taps, often from breweries with limited distribution.
The fix is simple. Almost every host stadium has at least one excellent independent brewery within a 10-minute walk of the gate, where the beer is half the price, the selection is far wider, and the pre-match atmosphere is more interesting than queueing in the concourse. This guide names the best one near every venue and tells you exactly how far it is from the gate.
United States venues
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford
The honest answer is that MetLife is in a parking-lot island in the Meadowlands, with no walkable brewery options. The closest is Departed Soles Brewing in Jersey City, a 25-minute drive. The pre-match move is to drink in Manhattan or Hoboken before the trip out: Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn (40 minutes by subway plus PATH train) or Departed Soles in Jersey City. Both are USD 9 to USD 11 a pint.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Monday Night Brewing is a 12-minute walk from Mercedes-Benz, in the West Midtown neighbourhood. They pour their Drafty Kilt scotch ale, the Atlanta institution, at USD 8 a pint. The taproom holds 200 and gets full two hours before kickoff on a match day, but the queue moves quickly. The Westside Provisions District around the brewery has additional bars and food, so plan to spend two to three hours there before the walk to the gate.
NRG Stadium, Houston
Karbach Brewing Company is a 14-minute walk from NRG. Their Hopadillo IPA is USD 8 a pint. The Karbach taproom has a large outdoor courtyard that holds match-day crowds well. Saint Arnold Brewing, the older of the two Houston craft institutions, is a 20-minute drive but worth the trip on a non-match day.
AT&T Stadium, Arlington (Dallas)
Texas Live, the entertainment district directly attached to AT&T Stadium, has Texas-themed bars but limited true craft selection. The closer move is Division Brewing, a 6-minute walk into downtown Arlington. Their Choctaw Bitter, an English-style ale, is USD 7 a pint. Another walkable option is Legal Draft Beer Company, a 12-minute walk, which serves the Indictment IPA at USD 7.
Lumen Field, Seattle
Pike Brewing Company is a 7-minute walk from Lumen Field, in the Pike Place Market area. Their Pike IPA is USD 8 a pint. The taproom is on the lower level of the market and has a view of Elliott Bay. A second option is Pyramid Alehouse, an 8-minute walk in the opposite direction, with the Apricot Ale at USD 8.
SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles
SoFi sits in Inglewood, a residential neighbourhood with limited brewery options within walking distance. Three Weavers Brewing is a 10-minute drive. The pre-match move is to drink in Culver City or Venice (both 25 to 30 minutes away) and time your arrival at the stadium to the 90-minute pre-kickoff window. Specifically, Three Weavers and Smog City Brewing in Torrance are both worth the drive.
Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara
Faultline Brewing Company is a 7-minute walk from Levi's. Their Single Malt Scottish Ale is USD 7 a pint. The taproom has a large outdoor patio and a full restaurant menu. Strike Brewing Company is a second walkable option, 12 minutes the other direction, with the Two-Stroke IPA at USD 7.
Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City
Boulevard Brewing Company is a 14-minute drive from Arrowhead, in the Crossroads Arts District of downtown Kansas City. The taproom serves the Tank 7 farmhouse ale at USD 8 a pint and has the largest outdoor beer garden in the city. There is no walkable brewery from Arrowhead itself, so you will need a car or rideshare. The trip is worth it.
Gillette Stadium, Foxborough
Bent Water Brewing in nearby Lynn is a 35-minute drive from Gillette. The honest local answer for walkable beer near the stadium is Patriot Place, the entertainment complex attached to Gillette, which has Tavern in the Square and a few other chain options. Bring a designated driver or ride the commuter rail in from Boston, where the brewery options are better.
Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens
Cigar City Brewing in Tampa is too far. The actual Miami pick is J. Wakefield Brewing in Wynwood, a 25-minute drive from the stadium. Pre-match, drink in Wynwood and rideshare. Their Dragonfruit Passionfruit Berliner is USD 9 a pint. Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, 15 minutes from the stadium, is the closer option, with the Floridian Hefeweizen at USD 8.
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
Yards Brewing Company is a 12-minute drive from the Linc, in the Northern Liberties neighbourhood. Their Philadelphia Pale Ale is USD 8 a pint. A second pre-match option is Victory Brewing in Downingtown (40 minutes west), which is too far for a match day but a great non-match-day trip.
Canadian venues
BMO Field, Toronto
Steam Whistle Brewing is a 9-minute walk from BMO Field, on the Toronto waterfront. Their Pilsner is CAD 8 a pint. The brewery is in a heritage railway roundhouse and has a large outdoor patio facing the lake. Amsterdam BrewHouse is a second walkable option, 11 minutes the other direction, with the Boneshaker IPA at CAD 9.
BC Place, Vancouver
33 Acres Brewing is a 22-minute walk from BC Place, in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Their 33 Acres of Sunshine pale ale is CAD 8 a pint. The taproom is small but the patio is good in dry weather. A closer walkable option is Steamworks Brewery in Gastown, an 11-minute walk, with the Pilsner at CAD 8.
Mexican venues
Estadio Azteca, Mexico City
Cerveceria Tepito is a 28-minute drive from Azteca, in the Tepito neighbourhood. Their Tepito Lager is MXN 75 (about USD 4). Mexico City's craft beer scene is younger than its US counterpart, and the more interesting option is to drink in the Roma or Condesa neighbourhoods before heading to the venue. Falling Piano Brewing in Roma Norte is MXN 80 a pint.
Estadio Akron, Guadalajara
Cerveceria Minerva is a 16-minute drive from Akron. Their Imperial Tequila Ale (made with tequila barrel-ageing) is MXN 95. Guadalajara's craft scene is the most active in Mexico and Minerva is the local institution.
Estadio BBVA, Monterrey
Cerveceria Capital is a 19-minute drive from BBVA. Their Coloso Pale Ale is MXN 85. The Monterrey craft scene has grown quickly in the past five years and Capital is the headline brewery. The walkable option from the stadium is the chain bar district along Avenida Pablo Livas, which has standard macro lagers but no craft selection.
Practical notes
Brewery taprooms across the three host countries close their doors to new entries roughly two hours before kickoff at the nearest venue, then reopen for the post-match crowd. The 90-minute pre-match window is the best time to be in a brewery, with one full pint and a soft drink before walking to the gate.
Match-day rideshare surge pricing in all three host countries can triple the standard fare at the post-match window. The post-match move is to walk back to the brewery you were at pre-match (it will be open), wait 60 to 75 minutes for the surge to drop, and then ride or take public transit to your hotel. The brewery has a clean toilet, a place to sit and the same pint you had three hours earlier. The transport situation at every host venue improves dramatically once the post-match crush thins out.
Designated drivers across the three countries face the same legal limit (0.08 percent blood alcohol in the US, 0.08 in Canada in most provinces, 0.08 in Mexico). Two pints over a three-hour pre-match window will keep most adults under the limit, but every brewery in this guide has rideshare access, so the safe move is always to leave the car at the hotel.
