Airport transfers, metro, bus, taxi, and cycling info for Toronto
Match-Day Transport
If you are heading to BMO Field, you need a solid World Cup 2026 Toronto: public transport guide to avoid match day traffic. The stadium sits right at Exhibition Place, just a short ride from downtown. Skip the rental car and rely on the TTC. The 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst streetcars drop you right outside the gates. If you fly into Pearson Airport, the UP Express gets you to Union Station in 25 minutes for CA$12.35.
Before kickoff, thousands of fans will pack the patios in nearby Liberty Village. It is a 10-minute walk to the stadium and serves as the unofficial pre-match hub since traditional tailgating is not a thing here. King West also offers great spots to grab a bite before jumping on the streetcar.
Here is your match day transit checklist:
- Buy a PRESTO card at Union Station or tap your credit card for the CA$3.30 fare.
- Take the UP Express from Pearson to downtown in 25 minutes.
- Walk the Martin Goodman Trail from downtown if the weather is nice (about 30 minutes).
- Check the bag policy before boarding, as BMO Field has strict limits.
- Look for accessible transit elevators at major subway stations.
Plan your route early and load your transit card before match day to skip the lines.
