All 48 Teams
The biggest World Cup in history. 48 nations, 6 confederations, 12 groups, and a tournament that runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026 across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
48 Teams. One Trophy.
All 48 World Cup 2026 teams are confirmed and drawn into their groups. This is the first ever 48-team World Cup. Every previous tournament since 1998 had 32 nations. The expansion adds 16 more dreams, 16 more stories, and, for millions of fans who have never seen their country at a World Cup, the moment they have waited a lifetime for.
The 48 nations are split into 12 groups of 4. The top 2 from each group advance, plus the 8 best third-placed teams, giving 32 nations a place in the Round of 32. Then it becomes knockout football all the way to the Final on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium. Brazil carry 5 titles, Argentina defend their 2022 crown, and 6 nations are competing at a World Cup for the very first time.
